The second half of July has been busy for staff at the Explorer because we’ve been out gathering material for upcoming issues. We’ve been to Mount Marcy to visit summit steward Mary Lamb, Mount Colden to visit an all-women trail crew, South Meadow in the High Peaks to join Ausable River Association researchers who are doing trout studies, North Country Camps in the northeastern Adirondacks, Pinnacle Mountain and Bolton Landing (where individuals are working to create a recreation hub), and Lake George to go out with the Lake George Park Commission during a milfoil survey.
After work, staff at the Explorer has enjoyed watching a moose that has been hanging around near the Saranac River. (The young bull can be seen above too.)
Above are some of the photo highlights from the assignments. Look for stories in upcoming issues of the Explorer.
