A parade of boat-topped cars traveled from Blue Mountain Lake to Indian Lake and North Creek Wednesday, Dec. 30, before reaching Newcomb Overlook Park in an outpouring of admiration for boatbuilder Pete Hornbeck, who died Saturday.
His family: wife Ann Hornbeck, daughter Leigh and son-in-law Josh Trombley were there to greet the crowd.

Thanks, Tracy. My husband and I were there and it was truly amazing. It was great to see friends and fellow paddlers even though the occasion was a sad one. The love could be felt in the air and we were honored to be a part of it.

Ah that’s lovely! Especially now, it’s very tough to organize memorial services due to social distancing. Great idea and many thanks for the photos. 🙂 RIP Mr. Hornbeck
