The Adirondack Explorer set out during the 2021 hiking season to learn more about visitor management strategies being tried—and some that seem to be working—in other popular recreation areas. Every other state charges me more as an out of state visitor. Parking fees, for any out of state visitor, $20+ each day. In state visitors less, empire pass holders free. If this had been done years ago the issue would be how to spend all this nrw money. Hire stewards, rebuild trails, more rangers to patrol, that is what you do with a windfall. And if it reduces demand, bonus.
